LuminAID

They’ve lit up the world for good. Now it’s time to do it for fun.

LuminAID's inflatable solar light is used by world's top humanitarian organizations in disaster recovery. When the company set out to expand into recreation, we had to prove its lanterns could light up to any occasion—starting with SxSW.

The results? A 116% increase in followers, an 800% increase in sales, and a seat as one of the top two trending topics in Austin on the day of the event.

Each LuminAID package is the size of candy bar. To showcase the fun and portability of the product, we created a larger-than-life LuminAID that doubled as a vending machine and set it loose across Austin during SxSW Music Week.

After we concepted the idea and sold it to the geniuses behind LuminAID, Creative Directors Paul Greer and Marc Garbarini led the rollout, building the machine and casting lanterns across Austin to spark intrigue. The spectacle drew hundreds in line and introduced LuminAID to a new generation of partygoers.

Attendees tweeted #SpreadLight to engage the machine, and each transaction sent a LuminAID to someone in need across the globe.
